A Dentil molding is in the form of wood blocks shaped like teeth. Dentil moldings were first carved into buildings made of stone by ancient Roman and Greek architects. Modern dentil molding is often constructed from wood or composite wood materials. It is typically trickier to install as compared to other forms of molding.
Also, it may be more costly to install a dentil molding on a structure. The blocks need to be separately cut using accurate measurements. The individual blocks are then installed carefully to ensure correct spacing. Dentil molding feature in lots of buildings constructed in Roman and Greek architectural styles. The unique trim can be used around ceilings and doors. However, it can also be seen installed along the roof line.
