Drawer Base Cabinets
This is a cabinet which has a sliding drawer installed. Drawer base cabinets are popular among base kitchen cabinets due to the storage versatility they offer to kitchens. The only recognized limitation of this cabinet style is that it can potentially interfere with installed drain pipes and might be difficult to use under sinks. In a row of kitchen cabinets, a number of drawer base cabinets can be used to support a countertop to help maximize available storage space. This type of cabinets characteristically have one door at the upper end and a door which opens to a 24-inches deep compartment.
The base cabinet may contain no shelf, a half or a full shelf. The lower part of the drawer is mostly not shielded internally from the bottom cabinet area to preserve the materials used in construction. Hence, the drawer movement may be obstructed when large objects are put in a way that they obstruct the movement of the drawer's base. Drawer base cabinet has become a well-known design and is also emulated in faux styles that have drawer fronts which aren’t really functional. This is a means of preserving the pattern of the exterior of a cabinet run when the addition of functional drawers is either not cost effective or practical.
