Face Frame
Face frame refers to the framed trim boards that are visible on a cabinet's face. The cabinet's face is the end where doors of drawers are accessed from. The face frame is made up of boards that make up a firm skeleton on the exposed side of a cabinet box. The face frame is usually made from materials different from those used in making the less noticeable parts of the cabinet such as the side and back panels.

A Hinges and an overlay are also available on the face frame of a cabinet run. The trim boards which are components of the face frame are sturdy enough to hold the weight of the cabinet door and also allow different modes of access. A number of manufacturers often bridge framed and frameless cabinet styles by incorporating trim boards onto the face of frameless cabinets to maintain the North American design of a face framed cabinet run.
