Filler Strip
A filter strip is a material often a piece of wood used to fill gaps in furniture and cabinets. The strips may be reversible and have a beaded or fluted design. Filler strips can be purchased in standard sizes, though most carpenters make strips in sizes that match their specific requirements. It is necessary to make use of filler strips which are made of the same material or wood as the remaining furniture or cabinets.
Matching filler strips are available for virtually all types of finishes and cabinet wood materials; they are also quite easy to install. A filler strip can be attached using nails, bolts, screws or adhesives. Filler strips can be used as office chair rails or substitutes for moldings along ceilings and floors.
