Fixed shelves are not movable and are used for storing objects with standard dimensions. Fixed shelves are not adjustable and are fixed to their frames in a way that cannot be altered. They have fixed heights and are ideal for items with standard heights. They are often used to store objects with a fairly uniform height, for example stacked plates, CDs and books. Fixed shelves are also commonly used in open spaces and closets rather than just cabinets.

 

Installation of fixed shelves in cabinets limits access to the back of the furniture and can be rather frustrating. However, in closets homeowners have more space more space and can access the room around the shelves. Fixed shelves are fastened in place using bracket which also provides some support to the shelves.
