L Shaped Kitchen
The L-shaped kitchen layout is one of the standard designs for kitchens in homes. The L- shaped layout was first used a long time ago, but its ergonomics makes it a popular choice that fits well in modern kitchens. The L-shaped kitchen layout is very efficient because it provides a reasonable working triangle to the cooking, preparation and cleanup areas. This layout is mostly used in small kitchens that cannot accommodate a G-shaped layout or an island. The L-shaped layout is not an outdated style and it easily matches most kitchen decorations.
The shape basically relates to the floor layout plan and doesn't include any extra requirements or restrictions beyond that. To obtain an adequate L-shaped layout, the kitchen needs to be built in the shape of an L. That is, it should be situated at a corner where the two walls create a perpendicular angle in which one of the wall is half the length of the other; forming a perfect "L."
