Lacquer
Lacquer refers to a unique finish applied to furniture made from wood. Though there isn't a specific method of accomplishing this finish, lacquered wood has features that are achieved by using solvents to produce a hard finish. The appeal of lacquered projects is always in high demand as it is highly sophisticated. The value of lacquer finished projects is higher than other finishes and the original technique has undergone constant improvement over the years.

Lacquered furniture have a glossy appearance and is considerably more durable than other finishes such as shellac finished furniture; another finish closely related to lacquer. The mixture of volatile and toxic chemicals used to produce lacquer finish is hard to get and must be handled by professionals only. It takes much practice to achieve the perfect appearance of a lacquered finish. A typical application of lacquer will often have other embellishments such as an inlay incorporated into the project.
