Mounting Plate
A mounting plate is the part of a handle, hinge or latch which attaches the piece of hardware to a cabinet. These plates make it easier to install doors on cabinet frames. A mounting plate is the part of the hinge attached to the wood. They are commonly used in cabinets, doors, and furniture. Mounting plates are available in a variety of finishes and sizes and can also be used to make the process of assembling drawer sides easier.

The mounting plate's size has an effect on the overlay of the door, so hinges should be carefully chosen to fit the project properly. Inappropriate sizes can lead to the presence of gaps and overlapping doors. Mounting plate models that will not be visible after installation are available and can be used to enhance the appearance of kitchen cabinets. Some hidden hinges can be inlayed to obtain a flush fit or installed on the inside of the cabinets.
