The term refers to cabinet hardware that can be installed without making cuts on the cabinets. The installation of no-mortise hinges does not require the wood on which it is to be installed cut at all. No-mortise hinges are not as wide as standard hinges and limits spaces or gaps on cabinets doors. No-mortise hinges leave just a little space between cabinet doors and their frames. No-mortise hinges are currently available in interior and profile mounted varieties. Certain no-mortise hinges are built specially for full inlay cabinet doors.

 

This type of hinge has a leaf which provides additional support when wrapped around cabinet doors. No-mortise hinges can also be installed on lids, door and drop leaf desks.They also come in a wide variety of styles and finish to blend with different decor styles. A lot of no-mortise hinges are manufactured using brass which makes them more expensive. To manage cost, a number of manufacturers offer no-mortise hinges made of steel before applying appropriate finishes.
