Outside Corner Molding
Outside corner molding is a type of molding used to hide the raw corners of kitchen or bathroom cabinets. Installed cabinets often have raw and unfinished edges to enable homeowners to add decorative details to these edges at a later date. A molding piece is added to the raw edges of cabinet boxes after installation. The molding is anchored to the wall at one end. The point where the direction of the molding changes would need an angular cut to produce a joint where the molding pieces meet at an inside or an outer corner, this is one appropriate use of this term.

Outside corner molding can also mean a particular style of the molding itself. Inside corner moldings typically appear triangular as they are created to be used at a corner for example, under the kitchen countertop. An outside edge molding normally has an "L" shape and is placed on an edge so that it covers the raw looking corners of kitchen cabinets just like those commonly seen along the lower edge of kitchen top cabinets. Both types of moldings can easily be distinguished when encountered in stores. Outside edge molding is not used as frequently as inside corner moldings hence it is only available in limited quantities in stores.
