Raised Panel
A raised panel is the center part of a cabinet or drawer door that is slightly elevated. There are several varieties of raised panel styles and designs. A raised panel is a center cabinet door panel that is positioned a raised a bit higher than the wood surrounding it. Raised panels are very popular due to the fact that they are commonly used in both modern and traditional kitchen styles. The doors are constructed by setting the panel in grooves that were cut into the door frames or by installing the panel using a suitable adhesive.
Raised panels often have square or arched edges. They can also have metal or glass inserts to enhance the look of the cabinet unit. Raised panels are constructed from different materials and in a variety of finishes to enable them to match most kitchens. They are also used on units designed to keep appliances hidden.
