Scribe Molding
Scribe molding refers to a piece of wood specifically used to conceal the gaps and inconsistencies between cabinets and the wall and ceiling of a room. It helps to give the cabinets a finished appearance. A scribe molding covers the space or inconsistency at the point where cabinets meet a room's wall or ceiling. The end of the molding that is attached to the cabinet is usually curved while the other end that is placed against the ceiling or wall is straight.
Scribe molding is used in place of the other forms of molding such as a crown molding or dentil. It is usually not expensive and offers a simple and finished look to the entire room. The scribe molding is installed on the cabinets using small nails and staples. A scribe molding is normally used in new homes but can also be used to conceal the flaws of the ceiling or wall of an older house.
