Solid Wood
Solid wood is any lumber milled from trees directly. Other common types of wood products such as particleboard, pressboards, MDF and plywood are engineered wood products. Solid woods are sawed directly from trees and contain natural wood fibers throughout the entire piece of lumber unlike manufactured wood products. No adhesives or fillers are used. Solid wood is widely used for construction of furniture and cabinets.
Solid wood’s qualities are not altered as easily as many manufactured wood products do, it is however more vulnerable to stains. Solid wood doesn't damage easily and easier to repair than manufactured wood products; one of the primary reasons why it is preferred for construction projects. There is a wide-ranging variety of solid wood cabinetmakers can select from to suit any particular project. Each solid wood exhibits its own unique features, including color, texture and grain pattern.
