The Work Triangle
The work triangle is the preferred link created in the kitchen design between the preparation, cooking and storage areas. Preferably, a homeowner should easily be able to move within the center of a work triangle while switching between stations quickly. There are many universally accepted guidelines designers follow while planning a kitchen triangle and these guidelines are highly specific. They provide literal suggestions and actual measurements. The following are some of the guidelines while designing a work triangle. The total distance of all three sides of the triangle must never be more than 26 feet. Also, each of the working triangle's leg must be between 4 ft and 9 ft in length.

The triangle designates an entirely clear space which should contain nothing at all within it. At The triangle must not cut into any object such as an island, that is more than twelve inches at any point. This implies that the traffic pattern of the major room should not be made to pass through the work triangle. The guidelines get more specific if the when the positioning of permanent fixtures such as a refrigerator is put into consideration. For instance, when there is just one sink in the kitchen space then it needs to be placed across the cooking surface, refrigerator and preparation area.
