Wall Skin
A wall skin is a special type of material used to change the aesthetic or add details to a room. Wall skins are often comprised of wood veneers. These thin sheets are installed on walls easily to provide a Wainscot or wood paneling effect. The texture of metal and other materials can be industrially incorporated into veneers, and these types of veneers create a modern atmosphere in kitchens. A wall skin can also be used to match and extend the backsplash of the kitchen to the entire kitchen wall.
Certain wall skins have three- dimensional textures that can give a natural rock look to the kitchen, but these type of skins must be plastered and painted to achieve the desired effects. Vinyl stickers used to decorate rooms with images can also be referred to as wall skins. Underneath the Rock boards and drywall are often present underneath wall skins to ensure the room meets the required fire safety standards.
